Hat: Leather cap, Blouse: Pop color blouse gifted from mum, Pants: Mr. Price |
I’ve been eyeing this
shirt for years now, because it has the most awesome, vintage-y feel…pop
colors, shoulder pads and all. I think I have an obsession with 90’s fashion
and well everything vintage from the 60’s era onward, that is apart from the
disco fashion phase, I’m sorry but white knee high boots, long sleeved mini-skirts
and pompadours are just not my thing. But everything but that, summer dresses
and the hippies era, grunge style, indie
fashion, boho looks, and even the gangsta look of the late 90’s is just to die
for. I don’t know how many hours I have spent of my life stalking Doc
Martens, and vintage stores and hippie/boho blogs online, meanwhile, speaking
of… I need a pair of those babies…Doc Martens, one of the main things missing
from my wardrobe, unfortunately, Ugandan stores have failed to stock these, so I’m
thinking of ordering mine online when I can stop being lazy and go through the whole, ordering shipping
shoes to Africa process.
Today at my schools
little dress-up day, I decided to channel I little bit of this era, mostly
because it was a perfect excuse to wear this awesome blouse, I did a kind of 90’s
sitcom teenager look, think Sister-sister, the Cosby Show’s Vanessa Huxtable
kind of look, who by the way I would love to raid her wardrobe.
I love the pop colors
on this shirt, I think it almost looks like an art piece, think Andy Warhol, I think
he would like this shirt, just saying.
I kind of feel that
this shirt is almost a representation of me, at least I think so, I love to
wear things that I think represent who I am as a person, the bright colors,
that seem a little odd and clashing together but come together perfectly, and
its artsy feel, plus its vintage so yeah.
I paired this outfit
with a leather cap, and the great love of my life, my gold chain necklace,
toned the whole shouting colors of my top down with a basic pair of black jeans
and blue and white brogues.
Thanx my loves for
reading
Xx Kae- stay inspired
